Last November, over 850 clinicians and managers attended the 2010 NHS Alliance annual conference to debate the implications of the Government’s reforms and to learn from leading innovators in commissioning and the provision of integrated care. The event was a huge success with over 70% of feedback survey respondents saying they planned to return this year.

The Coalition Government is now embarking on a pause for listening and reflection to consider what - if any - changes need to made to the Health and Social Care Bill in response to the concerns of clinicians, managers and patients. The critical choices made over the coming months will have profound consequences for all those using the NHS in the future, health professionals and support staff alike.

We know that we will have to set aside tribal differences and work in partnership as never before if we are to make the reforms work. There has never been a more important time to network with peers and to learn from those in the vanguard of commissioning and provision.

Break Through! will feature the movers and shakers in primary care and a comprehensive workshop programme that will offer a host of compelling examples of how innovative, go-ahead commissioners and providers are creating the future, today.
